If it’s good enough for the Journey, it’s good enough for this.

They are the strongest drivetrains in the world, I know not what you speak of.

I’ve said many times that a minivan makes a perfectly adequate pickup truck for most people. Someone obviously took that same train of thought to it’s furthest conclusion. (also, I hope they started with the 3.3 v6
, that’d be an incredibly annoying thing to be behind with that much weight and the smaller 4..)

Is that, perhaps , the longest Voyager?

As someone who uses a truck for work, I disagree. It doesn’t take as much as you think to get past 1500-2000 in a truck. On top of that, I can’t imagine how sketch that is pulling a trailer above 45.

That is awesome on so many levels

The first car is an Austin Healey, probably weighs a little over a ton, the old style mini probably weighs about 1500-1600 pounds, the trailer appendages I have no idea.

It’s totally sketch. I’m referring to all the people who live around me who have 1/2 ton pickups that they primarily use for commuting and grocery runs and take to the home center 3-4 times a year. A minivan will do all of the things I described at a lower total cost of ownership..
On this thing, it is totally sketch, and I sincerely hope they didn't try to exceed 40 mph given that everything forward of the car carrier is likely structurally compromised by their mod..

This drivetrain in an Acclaim will gap V6 Camaros. It’s literally flawless.

I’ve always been warned that the 4-speed autos in these vans are masters of slipping, but the more I dig into it, the more it seems to be just... user error?

Actually, I don’t think that there is a lot of “tongue weight” on the van chassis given the spacing of the car over the rear axles and the offsetting tongue weight of the trailer. So assuming a decent job of tying the traler into the van, my bet the structure is happy.
As for the engine/ transmission, it probably accelerates about as good as a semi truck and assuming no heavy inputs of throttle and that you are doing mostly flat country it shoulc be fine. Just make sure it doesn’t drop down into passing and the tranny should live. Also assuming he put quad disks on the rear axles, it should stop like a semi truck too.
So, if driven judiciously, I don’t see a reason it won’t work. Just don’t expect great acceleration, turning or braking from it. No more
than I would expect from
a loaded semi would....

PS, I wonder where the gas tank is......

Although, thinking about it more, there must be a lot of load on that trailer bed in that it now is a lever arm that supports the mass of the van and the trailer load...... That might be a lot of load for a trailer that wasn’t meant to carry it.....

You realize most 1/2 ton truck’s payload is under 1k lbs right?
Meanwhile most minivans have at least a 1500 lb payload.
